Clinical Neurosciences

tissue in the occipital cortex

Our research has led to major discoveries and treatments already in use world-wide. Our community of principal investigators work together finding new projects to explore the horizons of neuroscience and how we can improve both brain and mind health.

The needs of patients are at the forefront of the way we work and what we do, and we have the privilege of being based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, within Addenbrookes hospital.

Our major research themes include: traumatic brain injury, dementia and neuro degeneration, hearing and vision, neuroinflammation, rare neurological disorders, stroke, and stem cell neurobiology.

Researchers are supported by the latest neuroimaging technology and science, led by the Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre.

Our centres of excellence include the John van Geest Centre for Brain Repair, the UK Dementia Research Institute at Cambridge, the Cambridge Centre for Frontotemporal Dementia, and the Cambridge Centre for Parkinson’s Plus.
